The Holy Spirit gave me this teaching by revelation. He showed me six other
things we need to do in addition to giving that will bring financial
prosperity. Some Christians do not like to speak or deal with finances, but
there are over 1,000 scriptures on finances - including giving, receiving,
prosperity and wealth. It is a subject obviously close to the heart of God and
He wants us to prosper.
God is getting ready to prosper his people like never before - those He can
trust to use a portion of their blessing to get the gospel out to the ends of
the world. If you feel your blessing has been held back, perhaps just bringing
that weak area forward will make the difference and the Lord will pour out such
a blessing upon you, you will not be able to contain it.
1. READ AND MEDITATE GOD'S WORD
Sometimes you might feel you are not receiving when you read the word faithfully
ever day. Let me assure you the word is being received in your Sprit and will
produce faith for greater blessing.
Joshua 1:8 This book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth; but you
shall meditate therein day and night, that you may observe to do according to
all that is written therein; for then you will make your way prosperous, and
then you will have good success.
Also John 5:30, and Deut 8:18.
2) OBEY WHAT YOU READ
It's not enough just to read, but you must incorporate what we read into your
daily life and begin to live it out on a daily basis.
Deut 29:9 Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that you may
prosper in all you do.
Matt 7:24 Therefore whosoever hears these sayings of mine, and does them, I will
liken him unto a wise man, which builds his house upon a rock.
Also 1Chron 22:18.
3) SEEK THE WILL OF THE LORD FOR YOUR LIFE
There is so much more to a fulfilled life than just living day by day. God has
a special destiny for each one of us and it's important that we find that
destiny.
11Chron 26:5 And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, and as long as he
sought the Lord, God made him to prosper.
Ps 34:6 This poor man cried and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his
troubles.
4) LIVE A GODLY LIFE AND TRUST IN THE LORD FOR BLESSING AND PROVISION
There is righteousness or right living that releases you from guilt and
regrets. Your life becomes transparent, you have nothing to fear, and your
decisions are blessed.
Is 3:10 Say to the righteous that it shall be well with him, for they shall eat
the fruit of their doings.
Ps 35:77 He takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servants.
Also Is 65:22, Ps 37:3, and Acts 4:32-34.
5) SERVE THE LORD AND BLESSINGS WILL COME UPON YOU
Walk in the anointing God has placed upon you. Use the gifts God gives you.
Abraham was greatly blessed of God because he chose God's ways above his own.
Gen 24:35
Deut 8:18 But you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is he that gives you
power to get wealth
2Sam 6:1 And the ark of the Lord continued in the house of Obededem the Gittite
three months, and the Lord blessed Obededem and all his household
The ark of the covenant carried the anointing, or presence of God. When the
presence of God is cultivated in your life, it will bring blessing to you just
as it did to the house of Obededem.
Rather than asking the Lord for wealth, ask for the wisdom to get wealth.
1Kings 3:9-13
Exod 23:25 And you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread
and your water and I will take sickness away from the midst of you.
Also Matt 25:15, and I Tim 4:8.
6) YOU MUST HAVE A STRONG WORK ETHIC
God's blessing will never rest on a lazy person. He created us to work and be
productive.
The definition of Lazy - to pass time unproductively, disposed to be idle,
shiftless, slothful, unoccupied, not working, inactive.
The definention of Sluggard - slow in performance, resopnse or movement,
stagnant, lazy, disinclined to exert oneself, no activity that develops mental
fitness, no desire to improve one's standing or skills.
Prov 23:21 For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty, and
drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.
Ecc 10:18 By much slothfulness the building decays; and through idleness of the
hands the house drops through.
Prov 23:21 For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty, and
drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.
Also Prov 24:30-34, Rom 12:11, Prov 6:1, and Prov 26:14.
7) GIVE YOUR WAY INTO PROSPERITY
To whom should you give?
To the Work of the Lord - those who are occupied full-time in His service.
1 Cor 9:13-14 Do you not know that they which minister about holy things live of
the things of the temple and they which minister at the alter partake of the
offerings of the alter? Even so the Lord is commanded that those that who
preach the gospel should live from the gospel.
To the poor, fatherless, widows and needy.
Prov 28:27 He who gives to the poor will not lack.
Prov 21:13 He who shuts his ears to the cry of the poor will also cry himself and
not be heard.
Also Ps 112:9, Gal 2:10, and Ps 41:1.
How should you give?
Generously, and with a willing heart, not grudgingly or of necessity for the
Lord loves a cheerful giver.
Rom 12:8 Give with simplicity.
10% of your income goes to the work of the Lord
Abraham gave tithes of all (Gen 14:20) and Jacob promised the Lord if he would
be with him and bless him when he went, he would give him tithes of all. God
did bless Jacob and Jacob, in turn, gave the tenth back to the Lord. Moses
commanded the people of Israel to give the 10th of their goods to the priests
and Levites as well as giving to the needy and poor.
Some people argue that the tithe was under the law, but Abraham was before the
law.
Also, in the Old Testament, whenever you went to the prophet to receive a word
from the Lord you always brought a gift to the prophet, and that is how they
were provided for, as prophets were not always from the Levitical priesthood.
Isaiah, for example, was from royal lineage.
Mal 3:8-10 Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed me - But you say, Wherein
have we robbed you? In tithes and offerings. We rob God not only in withholding
tithe, but also in not giving offerings. Bring you all the tithes into the
storehouse, that there may be meat in my house, and prove me now herewith, says
the Lord of Hosts if I will not open the windows of heaven and pour you out a
blessing that there shall not be room enough to contain it.
Offerings are willing offerings, tithes are required.
THE ANOINTING OF MORE THAN ENOUGH
The widow woman in Elijah's day - She gave 100% of what she had and it was more
than enough, sustaining Elijah, her son and herself until the famine in the
land was over.
Exod 35:5 Take you from among you an offering into the Lord, whosoever is of a
willing heart, let him bring it, an offering of the lord.
Exod 35:21-22 And they came, every one whose heart stirred him up, and every one
whom his spirit made willing and they brought the Lords offering to the work of
the tabernacle. And they came, both men and women, as many as were willing
hearted and brought bracelets and earrings and rings and tablets all jewels of
gold and every man offered an offering of gold unto the Lord.
Exod 36:5 And they spoke unto Moses saying, the people bring much more than
enough for the service of the work, which the Lord commanded to make. The
people were restrained from bringing.
Also I Chron 29:3.
Some would complain about how ministries spend their gift, but once a gift is
given it is no longer yours - it becomes the Lord's offering.
PROMISES OF BLESSING FOR GIVING
Prov 3:10 Honor the Lord with thy substance and with the first fruits of all
your increase, so shall thy barns be filled with plenty and thy presses shall
burst with new wine.
Luke 6:38 Give and it shall be given to you, good measure, pressed down and
heaping shall the Lord give into your bosom.
I Cor 10:24 Seek every man another's wealth. In other words, don't be selfish,
but seek to help others obtain a blessing of wealth through your giving.
Mal 3:11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy
the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the
time in the field, says the Lord of hosts.
I challenge you to try the Lord and His Word and see how He will turn things in
your favor. Let us hear your testimony of what God has done for you.
